And while I'm on a political bender...
Who the HELL does a political robocall during the 9th inning of the deciding World Series game in which the region’s team is about to win? Seriously, why not just get a huge billboard that says “I molest kids, kick dogs, pour my used oil down the storm drains, wipe my ass with taxpayer dollars and drive drunk while talking on the cell phone”? It’ll have the same effect.

According to the LA Times, Carly Fiorina says that rising jobless claims are proof of failed economic policies. If there’s anybody who’s an expert on rising jobless claims, it’s Carly Fiorina. Outsource thousands of jobs and completely destroy a company lately, Carly?

Don'ts is not a typo?
From a quick grammar search, I see it’s not a typo…although some prefer don’t’s. which looks even stranger. I don’t know why, but I’ve always used dont’s. Jus’t to be saf’e, I’m goin’g to sta’rt putt’ing a’pos’tro’phe’s every’whe’re.
What the hell, SacBee?
I’m trying to visit a link on sacbee.com (Sacramento’s newspaper), a story about the California Chamber of Commerce funding an attack ad on Gubernatorial (I LOVE that word) candidate Jerry Brown. However, when I click it I get this:
If I understand it correctly, I need to log in to see the article, but the message also says I’m “already logged in”. When I click the...
Gov. Schwarzenegger, visionary
The Governator has created a new state agency to help businesses cut red tape. Brilliant! Just as fire can be used to fight fire, a new bureaucracy can be set up to cut down on bureaucracy.
Here are some other ideas that Schwarzenegger is noodling:
Cutting down on drunk driving by putting car rental kiosks in liquor stores.
Decrease commute times by allowing wrong-way driving on busy freeways.

When a geek plays word games
I was amazed to find that Words With Friends allows the acronym for Programmable Read Only Memory. I thought that it was because tech is becoming more meanstream, and we, as a society were becoming smart enough to recognize PROM as a word in a game.
Then I remembered the high school dances that I didn’t go to. Then the air was let out of my bubble.
A friendly note about daylight savings time
Hey fans, a little reminder for setting your clocks ahead by one hour tonight: remember the recent earthquakes in Chile have caused the earth’s rotation to speed up, such that a day is now 1.26 nanoseconds shorter. So remember to put your clocks ahead by one hour and 1.26 nanoseconds tonight.
Thank you, and keep reaching for the stars (but not Lindsay Lohan),

On TV shows that are about TV shows
and they have a backstage scene, is that a real backstage, or do they build a set of a backstage?
If they build a set, and then they do a TV show about a TV show about a TV show, and they have a scene in the backstage set, is that really the backstage set, or is it a set of the backstage set?
Ok, no need to answer that, I’ll start taking my medication again…
WTF is this headline about?
“Dangerously hot Cougars shoot amazingly well to put an end to Enterprise’s basketball season”
What, middle-aged, sexually starved women with guns that don’t like basketball?

Best thing about working from home
THE best thing about working from home? The free, unlimited espresso drinks, of course. Well, unlimited until I run out of espresso beans. And since I have to buy more when I run out, they’re not really free, either, so never mind.
What about that perceived benefit of no interruptions? Not true. Damned phone and email.
Blog Spam Wisdom
Maybe I need to rethink my policy of not allowing comments on my blogs. I’ve been missing this kind of thing:

Today’s BSW is a collection of highly complimentary comments. I believe these posters must be very wise indeed.
